Vueti: We Can Qualify For Rio

The national weightlifting squad members are optimistic of qualifying for the Rio Olympic Games during the Oceania Weightlifting Championship to be staged in Suva next week.
National coach, Joe Vueti said 90 percent of the lifters are very experienced as they have participated in the last qualifiers for the London Olympic Games.
“They know what’s ahead of them,” he said.
“So they are used to the pressure and yes the men and women did qualify for the London Olympics. Everyone knows the importance of scoring points for the team and they are used to this kind of competition.”
Vueti said preparations are going on well with no injuries to the lifters. He also pointed out the team need to be in the top five positions in the men and top four positions in the women to qualify for Rio in August.
