A new kindergarten for 33 Early Childhood students of Viseisei Primary School was officially opened by the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts, Mahendra Reddy in Viseisei, Vuda on Friday.

Speaking at the event, Mr Reddy highlighted the importance teachers played in the lives of the students at Early Childhood Education Centres.

“What we write down on the blackboard, what we say and teach them will define their entire life,” Mr Reddy said.

He also mentioned that the student’s failure and success would reflect on the teaching standards of teachers.

“We want to build a knowledge-based society so that everyone in the community can rise up and make decisions.”

Meanwhile the school’s head teacher, Madhukar Prakash, thanked the ministry and Government for being supportive and providing necessary aid when needed.

“A total of $10,000 was provided by Ministry of Education under the Ministers Initiative Grant this year and I am indeed thankful,” Mr Prakash said.

“$11,000 was used from the school’s grant to complete this project.

“This building which was renovated used to be a vacant staff quarters and we have now transformed it into a classroom where worthwhile learning can take place.”
