The Dean family are thankful to the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, for turning up to pay his last respects for the late Firoz Dean.

The late Mr Dean, who worked as a driver for the Public Service Commission for more than 16 years, had at one time driven for the A-G.

Also accompanying the A-G was the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Siddiq Koya.

Mr Dean’s sister Mariam Mario said his brother was the most respectful person she had ever known.

“Bhaijaan (Brother) was so caring towards his family and kids. He loved to play with the kids in our family and would help anyone who asked for his help. He was a good-hearted person to all of us,” Ms Mario said.

Mere Ravugati, 32, neighbour of the Dean family said Mr Dean was a down to earth type of person.

“Every morning and afternoon, whenever he passes our house he used to speak to us in iTaukei language and make a couple of jokes to cheer us up,” she said.

Firoz Dean, 46, died on Saturday night at his relative’s house where he had collapsed following a heart attack.

He is survived by his wife Noreen Dean, and two daughters Anisha Razia Bibi, 19, and Nadeema Razisha Bibi, 7.

He was buried at Wainibuku Cemetery in Nasinu yesterday.
