Burnt Cable Cabinet Leads To Telecom, Internet Outage In Parts Of Raiwaqa

The burning of a Telecom Fiji Cable Cabinet along Nairai Road in Raiwaqa yesterday afternoon affected TFL landline and Connece Internet services in some parts of Raiwaqa.
In this regards, Telecom Fiji is requesting for the public’s assistance in helping identify those responsible.
TFL chief executive, Mothilal De Silva, said: “Identifying the people responsible is and will remain a top investigation priority to Telecom Fiji Limited.
“This is a serious matter and we have reported the same to Fiji Police.
“We are requesting members of the public to help us in our efforts to find and convict those that are responsible.
“We are confident that the public can help identify the suspects and we encourage them to call us or the nearest Police Station.”
Mr De Silva further said the timeline given to resolve the outage caused by the fire is yet to be determined, however TFL will be offering a reward for any information which may lead to any arrests.
A reward of $1000 is being offered to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction to those responsible for this act.
TFL reminded the public that its infrastructure and services fall within the ambits National Essential Services.
“It is important that this critical infrastructure is protected as it is an enabler of essential and security services,” Mr De Silva said.
Members of the public are also requested to report any suspicious activities around TFL’s infrastructure.
