A man charged for dangerous driving appeared at the Suva Magistrate Court yesterday.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Lenaitasi Sautaki presented the court with the medical reports of the two victims who sustained severe injuries in the accident that occurred at Ratu Mara Road, Samabula, the post-mortem reports of the two victims who died due to the impact of the accident and the vehicle licence from LTA.

Ponipate Turagalevu was initially to be sentenced yesterday but the court following the presentation of the reports adjourned the case to May 30.

Turagalevu was charged with six counts; dangerous driving occasioning death (two), dangerous driving occasioning bodily harm (two), driving motor vehicle without a driver’s license and failure to comply with the requirements following accident.

He was further remanded by Magistrate Sufia Hamza till his sentencing.
