Vessel Gets Additional $500K Renovation

Goundar Shipping Limited has set aside $500,000 for upgrading of the Economy Class of their newest vessel, the MV Lomaiviti Princess III.
Company owner, George Goundar confirmed that they have extended the Economy Class space of the vessel by adding another 40 by 30 metres dimension.
This extension followed concerns raised by passengers who travel overnight via Suva-Savusavu-Taveuni routes that the original space was very limited and congested.
“Night travelers find it quite difficult to move around in the Economy Class area because there was very little space and people would take up every little corner to lie down and rest or sleep, etc.
“This caused a lot of problems for those moving around or want to use the convenience rooms,” a concerned passenger told Sun Shipping.
Mr Goundar responded that they have considered all concerns made by the travelling public because they are the main customers and it is importance to travel with comfort.
He said for extending and fully furnishing the room alone is worth thousands of Fijian dollars.
The company will be putting another 152 air craft seats, TV, chairs and will place rugs all over the clear spaces.
Leaving for Canada yesterday, Mr Goundar said he will be bringing in more materials for the Lomaiviti Princess III to complete the refurbishment process.
He called on the travelling public to be patient as the company will surely attend to their concerns in due course.
The vessel Lomaiviti Princess III current makes trips to Savusavu every Wednesday.
