Recipients of the Help for Home Initiative from the province of Cakaudrove yesterday praised Government for helping them rebuild their lives.

“I thank the Government for addressing our challenges, for helping me and my family in rebuilding our home,” Repeka Alailea said.

Ms Alailea is from Naloaloa, Wailevu East, Cakaudrove. She received $1500 assistance for hardware supplies through the initiative.

Tibitibi Settlement resident Setaita Waivou of Wailevu East, Cakaudrove, was very appreciative of the $3000 assistance from the initiative.

“Walls were blown away so the money will help families rebuilding their lives,” Mrs Waivou said.

She said housing was more important as food had been distributed continuously.

Ms Alailea said she applied for assistance and received a card to buy building materials.

“I have prepared a list of items that I need to buy to complete my partly damaged house.”

Mrs Alailea said she already used the card to purchase some of the hardware materials from Vinod Patel Hardware.

Ms Waivou also heaped praises on hardware retailer Vinod Patel for giving cash back to their shoppers.

“We are really thankful to Vinod Patel for giving extra money to the initiative candidate, for $60 for $1500, $120 for $3000, $200 for $7000,” Ms Waivou said.
