An inmate who is appealing against his sentence of 25 months imprisonment was refused bail on Tuesday by the Suva High Court judge Justice Achala Wengapulli.

Benjamin Padarath was imprisoned for providing false information to a public servant.

Prosecutor Anaseini Lomani asked the court for seven days to file her submissions to which the defence lawyer Babra Malimali objected saying her client’s request for Padarath to be granted bail till the next hearing.
