About $800,000 is projected to be spent on the upgrading of accommodation at the Turtle Island Resort in the Yasawas.

Director Richard Stevenson Jnr said: “We are looking into upgrading our Fijian villas and that is still a work in progress.”

“The upgrading will focus on the interior designing work and exterior design upgrade.”

“We still have designers working to come up with a concept that we will be happy with. Hopefully that work will begin towards the end of the year.”

Forecast for year 2016

Mr Stevenson added that last year was a great year with 2016 looks very exciting for the property.

“And 2005 was a very successful for us so as to 2014.We continued to see growth over the year which is excellent,” he said.

He added that bookings for the rest of the year has not been disturbed by Cyclone Winston which devastated parts of the nation on February 20.

“In 2016 we took off with a very strong booking in January and February.”

The private island consists of 14 Fijian villas housing a total of 14 couples at a time.
