Nailega Village in Tailevu received a donation of $12,000 worth of building materials and kitchen utensils from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community last Sunday.

With help from its charitable trust – Humanity First – the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Fiji was able to make this donation to the village.

Humanity First Director in Fiji, Mohammed Israr Khan, said the villagers whose houses were damaged during Tropical Cyclone Winston on February 20 were thankful for the kind gesture provided.

“This was done after a survey was done and Nailega Village was one of the worst affected villages, so we actual bought these materials, mostly roofing iron and delivered it to the village,” said Mr Khan.

Mr Khan said they initially donated rations which included groceries and kitchen utensils.

This is their second round of assistance to the village.
