The case of Fiji National University former vice-chancellor Ganesh Chand will now be called before a new judge.

High Court judge Justice Priyantha Fernando informed the court yesterday that he personally knew one of the witnesses and this would be a conflict of interest.

Defence lawyer Devanesh Sharma requested the court for the hearing date to be shifted after June 13 because he would be out of the country and would not be available to attend the case.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption charged Chand with one count of abuse of office while being employed at FNU.

The case has been adjourned to June 20.
