The Government of Brunei Darussalam has donated F$74, 939 (US$36,020) towards the Prime Minister’s National Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation Fund.

Ambassador Ratu Tui Cavuilati this week received the assistance from His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan through its representative in Jakarta.

Ambassador Cavuilati expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the Fijian Government.

He said that such generous donation would go a long way to bringing normalcy back to the lives of Fijians directly affected and in turn strengthen the amicable relations that have existed between the two Governments and people of Brunei Darussalam and Fiji.

Ambassador Cavuilati also briefed his Brunei counterpart on the reconstruction work now being undertaken by the Government at the same time acknowledging the assistance in cash and kind by the international community.

Ambassador Rahman expressed his Government’s condolences to the Fijian Government and people of Fiji especially to the families drastically affected by the devastation caused by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
