McDonald’s Fiji has come on board to support the Road to Gold campaign.

Managing director Marc McElrath launched the fundraising drive in Suva yesterday.

McElrath said this was their initiative to support Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Ben Ryan team achieve their target at the Rio Olympics in August.

“We are launching this campaign to help Fiji win the gold medal in Rio,”McElrath said.

“We are trying to assist and support the team through selling small paper rugby balls in our restaurants to our customers and all money collected from there will go towards Road To Gold campaign.”

McDonald’s Fiji will be doing this fundraising drive in all their restaurants around the country so any customer can purchase the small paper rugby ball for a dollar, put their name on it and it goes for display in the shop.

Litiana Loabuka, co-chair of the Road To Gold fundraising committee, acknowledged the support.

“We thank McDonald’s for supporting the initiative,” Loabuka said.

McDonald’s Fiji is hoping to raise $10,000 to $15,000.
