Class I Warrant Officer Wili Thomas was a “great officer”.

This is how Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) Commander, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto described the late Officer Thomas at his funeral service.

“He was one of the best officers we had. A caring hearted and humble person.

“He always was helpful towards everyone and was a down to earth person.

“It’s very saddening to lose such a great officer,” Rear Admiral Naupoto said.

Prior to his untimely death, officer Thomas recently returned from Sudan, but the cause of death is still under investigation.

“We are conducting an internal investigation which will help explain his sudden death at an early age. The investigation shall be completed soon,” Fiji Navy Commander Captain (Navy) John Fox said.

“I was shocked to hear the news of his death because he always looked fit and fine. I am proud of what Officer Thomas has achieved in his life and as an army officer,” Captain Fox said.

Officer Thomas was laid to rest at the Suva Cemetery. Senior officers from the military and Corrections marched through Lami Town in honour of officer Thomas.

He joined the RFMF in 2002 wining great achievements throughout the years he had served in the military.  Edited by Naisa Koroi
