The Vodafone Fijian 7s team has claimed the status of World Rugby Sevens Series champions yet again.
They are the first Fijian team to win the series back-to-back after booking their place in the last eight of the Cup quarterfinals this morning.
Despite losing their opening pool game against hosts England 31-10, Fiji went on to thrash Wales 42-5 and Australia 26-0.
Captain Osea Kolinisau said the boys came through when it mattered the most.
“Before the game against Australia, I had a chat with Ben as i was a little bit anxious, but the boys delivered when it mattered most,” Kolinisau said.
“That shows the character of the team. When it mattered most this season, the boys kept stepping up and its all down to teamwork throughout this year.”
Fiji plays France in the Cup quarterfinals at 10:20pm tonight.
