May The Best Qualify For Rio

International Weightlifting Federation president, Tamas Ajan has wished all participants at the Oceania Weightlifting Championship well with the hope they qualify for the Rio OIympic Games in August.

Speaking during the Oceania Weightlifting Federation Congress yesterday, he praised the work down by Fiji Weightlifting led by its president Atma Maharaj.

Ajan said he was impressed with how the Oceania Weightlifting Championship is being organised and thanked Maharaj for all the hard work they put in to host the event.

He continued to thank all delegates for their determination in bringing the sport to where it is today.

“If I know very well, behind rugby, weightlifting is the second most popular sport in Oceania,” he said.

“Thank you very much too all the leaders who are sitting here for what you are doing. This is also a qualification competition for the Rio Olympic Games. The Oceania has good lifters and they can qualify too.”
