Shipping Company Eyes New Ferry

A local shipping company that lost both its ferries during Tropical Cyclone Winston is now negotiating the purchase of a new ferry. A close source within Venu Shipping Limited said the ferry that is currently being negotiated is in China.

When the company was contacted yesterday, an employee indicated that managing director Ben Naidu is currently away overseas.

“The public will be updated about the services of Venue Shipping once Mr Naidu is back in Fiji,” stated the company employee.

The company owns inter-island ferries MV Sinu-i-Wasa which sunk at the Levuka wharf while Sinu-i-Wasa Tolu was washed ashore in Toki, Levuka.

The company’s other ferry MV Suilven had sunk in Suva last year.
