Together We Can

Acting Prime Minister and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum strongly believes if we all work together then it will help the Vodafone Fijian 7s team win gold at the Rio Olympics.
He made this statement during the Vodafone Fijian 7s team celebration at Ratu Sukuna Park, Suva yesterday.
“Forty four lives were lost during cyclone Winston, over 40,000 homes were damaged some people don’t have a home today and we are working together to give them homes,” he said.
“Two hundred and twenty six schools were damaged, some of them were completely destroyed and some were partially damaged.”
So, said Mr Sayed-Khaiyum, at a time like this it is wonderful to get such good news as the team’s success.
“The team played their hearts out to ensure we get such good news. This shows that all of us in this park, if we work together and we all focus to take our country forward, we can achieve gold in Rio,” he added.
Sayed-Khaiyum acknowledged the team for their effort.
“It’s very wonderful for all of us Fijians to welcome our team that have now won back to back the World 7s Series title.
“It’s not an easy feat as you’ve seen all the teams in the series have been improving and a lot more money is given to them.
“On behalf of the Fijian people I would like to thank Osea and his team for bringing this wonderful victory,” he added.
