Police are investigating more leads in relation to the case of the making and distribution of fake notes in Fiji.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the investigations were continuing and they were encouraging the public to come forward with any information they may know.

“We are looking for more people who may also be allegedly involved with the fake notes distribution,” she said.

“We hope to find all the people involved in the making and distribution of the fake notes,” Ms Naisoro said.

Ten $100 notes bearing Serial #FFA2759142 with seven $100 notes bearing Serial #FFA2759138 were found at Deep Sea Nightclub in Nadi on May 15.

Meanwhile, the accused businessman Kamlesh Chandra, 32, and Josivini Vameau, 20, both of Nadi, appeared before Magistrate Chandni Dias in Nadi on May 20, charged with one count of uttering and in possession of counterfeit notes.

Magistrate Dias remanded the two-accused in custody and they would re-appear in court on June 3.
