The Fiji Football Regional Academy Under- 20 side thrashed Dreketi 5 -2 in their Vodafone Premier League clash at All Saints Secondary School ground, Labasa yesterday.

What Happened

Academy started strongly and pressured the Dreketi goal. Their superior skills were a delight to watch as they took control of the game. They took the lead in the 15th minute through striker Mohammed Afraz.

They never slackened down as they ran around the Dreketi defence with Frances Catarogo tapping in the second goal.

Half Time: Academy 2 – 0 Dreketi

The visitors opened the second half with goals to Mataiasi Toma, Don Roy and Saten Kumar. Not to be outdone Dreketi fought back and scored two goals through Satek Kumar.

Comments:

Academy coach Ronil Lal: “The boys played well but allowed two soft goals to be scored against them and we need to address some mistake before our game against Labasa.”

Dreketi Football president Jay Karan said: “There was not enough time for us to prepare.”
