The Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama, will today receive a payment of F$23.4million from the European Union to assist Fiji’s recovery effort in the wake of Tropical Cyclone Winston.

He will receive the payment in Port Moresby.

The Prime Minister is leading a delegation this week to the 8th African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Summit, which is being held in Papua New Guinea.

He will then take part in discussions with his fellow leaders on sustainable development and the future of the ACP.

The PM arrived in Port Moresby yesterday to join heads of state and heads of government from the 79 ACP member countries.

Yesterday, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, attended the Joint Meeting in Port Moresby of the ACP Council of Ministers, which precedes the summit.
