FNRL Shock Move

In a sudden twist of event the Fiji National Rugby League annual general meeting set for Saturday has been deferred to November. When contacted yesterday FNRL chief executive officer, Timoci Naleba, said they have moved the AGM to November with the date yet to be confirmed.
He did not wish to reveal the reason for the postponement.
Attempts made to obtain a comment from FNRL board chairman Filimoni Vosarogo proved futile as his phone was switched off.
Former FNRL chairman and Nadera Panthers president Peni Musunamasi believes having the AGM in November would be too late considering the fact that 2017 is the World Cup year.
“I’m not sure the reason why they have moved it but they already advertised in the papers that the AGM is happening this Saturday and all of a sudden they moved it,” he said.
“This year is a very important year, if a team wants to prepare for the World Cup next year, they have to prepare way ahead for example you need to put in your budget to Government and all of this will need to be done this year.”
