Quality And Best Price Assured At Suva On Sale

Suva on Sale organisers have reassured that quality and price of goods and merchandise sold will be one of their priorities this year.
Suva on Sale will be held from June 4 to 11 with majority of the shops in Suva on board to participate in the weeklong event.
Suva Retailers Association President, Atish Lala, said: “After an absence of nearly five years, Suva on Sale is back so there will be savings on all items that will be sold, great deals can be expected on all items.
“Suva on Sale is an incentive together with Suva City Council (SCC) and Ministry of Local Government and we decided we need to do something,” he said.
“After Cyclone Winston, there was a lot of suffering which is why we are trying to give people back through the sale.”
Mr Lala said recently things were improving but it still has its downside and they expect things to keep getting better as the year goes on.
“The consumers have their own preference but overall consumers spending towards non-essential items have decreased,” he said.
“Suva on Sale will have items and other participants will be in Suva City, offering their best deals.
“It’s going to be like a great atmosphere, with great bargains. It’s something that they will look forward to.
“We just have to maintain that whoever is participating is doing so in good faith.
“And the quality of the merchandise is maintained and it has to be as it was promised, warranty and guarantee.”
Budget submission
Meanwhile, Mr Lala said they have made their 2017 National Budget Submission as an association.
“There are a couple of things we have asked for example a reduction in duty on general footwear,” he said.
“We are also requesting Government to waive certain credit cards charges (surcharges), reduce duty component of paper and related items under it, and revise duty on exercise books and Credit Card Fee.”
