The Lautoka Farmers’ Carnival will be open on June 8 at the Carnival Grounds, Churchill Park in Lautoka.

Carnival director and secretary Udit Narayan said the contestants were ready for participation in the week-long carnival.

“We have six contestants representing Drasa, Lovu, Lautoka, Lautoka City, Saweni and Natova areas,” Mr Narayan said.

He said the organisers were hopeful and were expecting co-operation from business houses and the public.

“I would like to urge the public to flock in numbers and support the contestants raise funds which would be used for a worthy cause,” he said.

“The funds raised would be used to help those people who were affected by the Category Five Cyclone Winston.”

The theme for this year’s Farmers Carnival is: Raise funds to educate the underprivileged.
