A 30 year old mechanic died following a tragic accident at his work site in Nasautoka, Wainibuka, Tailevu yesterday morning.
The incident occurred at Teni forest between 0900 – 1000hrs whereby the victim was seriously injured when the track blade of a bulldozer operated by a 50 year old man hit his head. He was rushed to the Korovou Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post mortem will be conducted as investigations continue.
We plead with those operating heavy machinery to be vigilant and cautious at all times.
