Koroboya Villagers Thank Govt

The people of Koroboya Village in Ba are thankful to Government for the assistance provided through the Help for Home Initiative.
More than 410 people from the areas of Bulabula, Busabusa, Solosolo, Namada, Tivoro lane and Veisaru were issued with Help for Home e-cards at Veisaru Indian School during the distribution last week.
Koroboya Village headman Gaberieli Nabure said he was grateful for the assistance provided in the rebuilding of their village.
“Koroboya has a population of over 200 people and is dependent on farming as a source of income.
“There were 23 houses damaged by Cyclone Winston and some of the families had to live in temporary shelters while others had to live in tents which were provided during DISMAC operations,” Mr Nabure said.
“Some of us would not have been able to rebuild our homes, if it wasn’t for the Government’s assistance.
“The Help for Home Initiative is a big relief for the Koroboya villagers; we thank the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, for visiting our village early this year; the team had also supplied the village with food rations and basic necessities during our time of need.”
He said the Government’s assistance would help improve the lives of Koroboya villagers.
“This is the first government to reach out to us through development initiatives; our special thanks to the Prime Minister for all the assistance provided to develop the rural communities,” Mr Nabure said.
