The Southern Zone secondary schools rugby will soon introduce girl’s 7-a-side games in the third round of competition.

This was confirmed yesterday by Southern Zone president, Napolioni Silatolu.

“We have Ballantine Memorial School, Lomaivuna Secondary and Nasinu Secondary School taking part in the competition which will start next Saturday,” he said.

Last year’s Coke Zero Deans Trophy runners-up Marist Brothers High School Under-18 side looked strong under the leadership of prop Kaliopasi Uluilakepa.

Yesterday they walloped Ratu Sukuna Memorial School 43-6 in the main game. In the other U18 games Nasinu Secondary School beat John Wesley College 22-11 while Suva Grammar School thumped Dudley 20-0 and Latianara Secondary School dumped Nabua Secondary 17-5.

Silatolu was impressed with the outcome of the second round of competition.

 

Results:

U15- AOG 12-0 LDS, Lomaivuna 31-0 Basden; U16- MBHS 36-0 Nasinu, SGS 17-7 RSMS; U18- SGS 20-0 Dudley, Latianara 17-5 Nabua,Nasinu 22-11 John Wesley, Latianara 15-11 LDS; U19- Nasinu 10-5 Monfort , Lomaivuna 12-9 RSMS.
