41 Structural Fires So Far

The National Fire Authority has recorded 41 structural fires so far.
This is compared to 34 fires same period last year.
Chief fire officer QionilauMoceitai said the Authority is concerned with the increasing number of fire incidents.
“Homeowners need to be mindful of fire safety at home.
“Nearly everyday fire ignition sources are used at home and as such there is a high possibility of fire occurring,” Mr Moceitai said.
NFA is urging people not to leave cooking unattended, electrical appliances must always be switched off properly and not to overload power-boards for the safety of them and their families.
