FNU Looks Forward To Providing Cabin Crew Training

The Fiji National University, through its National Training and Productivity Centre (NTPC), is looking at providing hospitality courses for the aviation sector.
They are venturing into some aviation training specifically in the area of cabin crew training.
This was revealed by Deputy Director Satendra Nair during the Industry Discussion Forum at the FNU Namaka Campus on Thursday night.
He said the plans came about given the increasing interest shown in the aviation area by local and international airlines when recruiting people.
Mr Nair said getting a training simulator seemed quite expensive but after the discussions at the forum, the local airline has shown interest to partner in this venture which they welcomed.
He said there will be more discussions to sign a memorandum of understanding jointly to get this training programme for Fijians.
Mr Nair said they are also looking at the option of getting a smaller version of the aeroplane shell to fit it on the ground and then fit it with the amenities to suit.
“Once we have our meeting with the local airline, we will be able to finalise what type of simulator resources we can get to train the crew hence on,” he said.
