Staff Visit Brightens Up Navolau District School

Staff members of Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort visited Navolau District School recently to share their love with students who had lost almost everything after Cyclone Winston.
The school’s assistant headteacher, Inosi Biulailai, thanked the group for the visit and commended their efforts to help the students.
“I would like to thank the staff of Shangri- La’s Resort along with other people like Fiji Red Cross, help from Rosie Tours, and Fiji Chemicals for visiting our school today,” Biulailai said.
The students were equally excited to host the visitors.
“Most of these children come from very poor backgrounds and most of their homes were destroyed by the recent cyclone, and these books and other stationery will help them in the long run,” he said.
Resort general manager Craig Powell said the opportunity was a rare occasion to help their fellow Fijian citizens who were in need.
“I am very happy that I got a chance to help these children,” Mr Powell said.
“Sharing the love with these students is a pleasure and seeing them happy as we visit is even worthwhile.”
Mr Powell also invited the school for a day trip to the resort where lunch and transport cost would be provided by the resort.
