Samoa Rope in Top Players

We’ve brought our best players to play against Fiji, says Manu Samoa head coach Alama Ieremaia.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday the former All Blacks second five eight said he had rested all his key players in last week’s Test clash against Georgia where they drew 19-all.
“Most of our overseas based-players arrived late last week obviously they didn’t feature in the Georgia game,” he said.
“Most of our new players played in that Georgia game and we have come prepared for Fiji. We are happy to have a full squad here now so it’s a key game for us and Fiji as well. We are excited to have these overseas based-players and we have had good preparations.”
The Samoans key focus is for a top two finish to book a berth at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
“This is a main qualification game for us. Watching Fiji and Tonga last week we could see that both teams have come prepared. It’s a big task playing Fiji here on their home ground and we are looking forward to it,” he said.
Ieremia said they got to have the right tactics to tackle Fiji.
“This is a new team from last year, we will look at how we approach this weekend and look at Fiji and come up with the right tactics.
“They have a very experience side, we have exciting players and the crowd is behind them this week; it will be exciting for them.”
The Samoans are also looking forward to good support from their fans on Saturday.
“The Samoa community here is fantastic, the Samoa church, the university students, Samoan families and we are always excited to have their support,” Ieremia added.
