Yalodu Shipping Service has added a new ‘Seabus’ to their fleet of boats in a bid to lift their services to the people in the Yasawas.

The new catamaran has resumed operation early this month offering a great alternative and affordable option of getting people in and out of the Yasawa islands.

MV Tavewa Seabus  which services the Northern Yasawa Island chain also includes Tavewa Island.

Company director Don Bruce added for this investment they spent a significant amount with the boat meeting the demand in the maritime zone.

“This is a major investment added by our resort and our parent company which was launched last week,” he said.

Mr Bruce said the boat was built by the local Bluewater Craft from Navua, which is a world class.

He added this affordable option out of Lautoka gets people to the resort and nearby villages around three hours.

The term “cerevi” is the iTaukei tradition of welcoming something new and in this case, the Tavewa Seabus was officially launched on June 6 at Lautoka Wharf with its maiden route to the northern Yasawa was held on June 8.

The boat can carry luggage and a total of 46 passengers at one voyage.

The Yalodu Shipping is a franchise of Coralview Island Resort on Tavewa Island which has upped its sustainable game with the recent introduction of solar panel systems while their nearby farm supplies them and other resorts in the area with fresh food, eggs and meat.
