Coach John Williams and the team arrived in Labasa yesterday. The last time Lautoka won the FACT was in 2002. “This is the first time for me as a coach to prepare Lautoka for the FACT,” Williams said.

“I’ve players from different districts and from different background and it has been very challenging for me as coach to would them as a team.”

Williams, a senior pastor of New Life Church in the western division, said his team was centred in Christ.

“We are driven by Philippians 4: 3, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’” Williams said. “We are fully prepared for this tournament and we believe we can achieve our target.

“Many times we have been ridiculed and criticised, but we are standing firm on our objective.

“To all the people who will be at Subrail Park today I would like to urge you to support our players.”

Lautoka plays Suva in the opening match at Subrail Park at 1pm.

On Saturday they will face Nadroga at 2pm.
