The financial issues that had plagued the Melanesian Spearhead Group will be resolved, says George Milner Tozaka.

The MSG Foreign Affairs Ministers meeting, chairman said the appointment of Fiji’s Ambassador for Climate Change and Oceans Amena Yauvoli as director-general would help alleviate the problem.

“The MSG Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting is happy to say that with the appointment of Mr Yauvoli, we have agreed to take the issue head-on.

“In everything there is a solution,” Mr Tozaka said.

Former director-general of the MSG Secretariat Peter Forau tendered his resignation two years before his term ended.

He was elected into that position in 2011 but resigned citing lackm of financial commitment from MSG member countries.

Mr Forau had said financial support for the MSG Secretariat was becoming a major issue for the MSG.

Mr Tozaka said the financial issue would be resolved.
