The post Winston relief effort and climate adaptation have been the subject of talks in Suva between the Attorney-General and Minister for Finance, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, and the visiting Asian Development Bank executive director, Won-Mok Choi.

They also discussed Fiji’s proposal to host the ADB Annual Meeting in 2019 or 2020 and the general state of the tourism industry in Fiji, which Mr Choi said clearly had the potential to develop further.

The A-G specifically thanked the Government of Korea for its support through the ADB to finance climate adaptation measures for the Fiji Urban Water Supply and Wastewater Management Project under the Green Climate Fund.

The A-G also briefed the ADB executive director on the various rehabilitation measures in the wake of Cyclone Winston, with particular emphasis on the partnership between Government and the private sector in the Adopt a School and Help for Homes programmes.
