Nadi’s Jese Sees Red

It was all drama at the Vodafone Fijian FACT tournament after Jack’s Nadi central defender Ilimotama Jese copped the first red card at Subrail Park, Labasa yesterday.
Midway the first half an angry Jese retaliated after copping a tackle from veteran Dreketi midfielder Henry Dyer, which he claimed was dangerous but referee Kristesh Prasad showed him the red card.
Fiji Football Association officials moved in to settle the matter on the sideline as Jese vented out his frustration. Competitions manager Amitesh Pal told SUNsports that Jese is on a two-match suspension.
Playing with only 10-men sparked the Jetsetters as they romped to a 2-0 win.
Nadi coach Joseph Nand said they would address the situation in camp.
“We will also discuss about our tactics before we take on Ba tomorrow,” he said.
Nand said he was happy with the players’ performance especially when they played most part of the match with only 10 men.
Free kick specialist William Valentine blasted in Nadi’s first goal as they led 1-0 at halftime before Antonio Tuivuna tapped in their second goal right in the dying moments of the game. Backed by their vocal supporters Dreketi gave their all but it was not good enough.
Dreketi assistant coach Ronil Ram said as a newcomer to such big tournaments they would try and improve in their game against Rewa today.
