Sinu Millennium Festival Sinu Carnival Hailed As A Success

Nasinu Town special administrator Mosese Kama said the council was looking forward for major sponsors from within the municipality to take the Vodafone Sinu Millennium Festival to the next level.

Despite the rainy weather and muddy conditions, a large crowd gathered to witness the float procession on the final day of the festival.

The float procession started from the World Harvest Centre in Kinoya till the Valelevu Ground where the festival ended.

Miss Nasinu Town Council contestant Lidia Sereinagata won the float competition yesterday afternoon.

Many people, young and old, braved the drizzling rain to take advantage of the amusement rides, entertainment and a variety of cuisine offered at the ground.

Mr Kama said it had been a long time since Nasinu had such a festival.

“I think the festival can be judged from the people’s reactions,” Mr Kama said.

“The theme of the festival carries a lot of weight. We look after the environment, the environment will also look after us.”

He said the contestants’ messages throughout the week had touched the hearts of the people of Nasinu at large in looking after their environment.

“I’m sure by coming to the festival and knowing what the festival is about, apart from enjoying themselves, points out that there is an underlying message for the people to unite and beautify the municipality of Nasinu,” Mr Kama said.
