Ferry travellers going to Taveuni Island have been warned to always take precaution.

The warning came from inter-island ferry Taveuni Princess managing director and Captain Soniya Thakur.

The instruction was given after Mrs Thakur who is also a ferry engineer said changes in weather condition would affect the current ferry daily routes.

“This busy period especially during boarding and disembarking of passengers from the Natuvu Jetty to the Taveuni Jetty; we have to ensure passengers safety for both children and adults who want to hurriedly reach their destination,” she said.

“If it is raining or hot sunny days my crew try their best to assist passengers not only with their entire luggage. We have a few umbrellas too; hence we would like to request passengers to come prepared during their journey and expect slight rough seas, slippery jetties and rain.”

Mrs Thakur added she was also worried about shelter for the passengers who travel to and from Taveuni Island.

“There are lavatories available for passengers at Natuvu jetty but a shelter especially during the rainy days is yet to be built.
