Vodafone Flying Fijians halfback Serupepeli Vularika learned a lot playing with professional players during the 2016 Pacific Nations Cup.

And the Naqarani, Rewa native hopes he will make the match-day squad against Georgia 3pm in the one-off test at the ANZ Stadium tomorrow.

As one of the local players in the squad, the 26-year-old said recovery and time management was essential in preparing for international competition.

“I’ve had a good learning experience playing with professional players,” Vularika said.

“Time management, discipline and recovery is important when we prepare for test matches.

“I want to thank Henry Seniloli, Nemia Kenatale, captain Sunia Koto and Seremaia Bai for helping and encouraging me.”

He is one of the local players who came through schools, provincial and Telecom Fijian Warriors competition.

“My aim now is to secure overseas contract and a spot at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

“I hope to make the match-day squad against Georgia.”

Meanwhile, Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach John McKee said local players adapted well to the Flying Fijians system.

“We are happy with the way they have fitted in and the way they understand their roles and game plan,” McKee said.
