The Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Force, Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto has urged all in the RFMF to stick to the command structure.

Speaking at his first Commander’s parade yesterday at the Queen Elizabeth’s Barracks, Nabua, he told members of the military: “We are failing to follow our command structure.”

He said all problems were to be solved by their immediate bosses.

According to the Commander there were procedures to be followed.

He said not following the command structure was a sign of disrespect to those in command.

“We should put a stop to this,”

Some problems that were to be solved by the immediate commanders were taken up to senior levels.

He urged them to keep and follow the command structure

The Commander reminded all those at RFMF that such a parade was where they showcase the institution.

He said it was sad that some usually were not present at the parade.

He said there would be other major parades to come, the Fiji Day and the new Fiji Flag parade.

He also reminded those at the parade about the Infantry Day.

He said the Infantry played a major role in the military and should be respected.

In fact he said the core unit of the RFMF was the Infantry.

He thanked the Land Force Commander, Colonel Sapenasa Motufaga who was the parade commander.

The turnout, he said, was very good and the soldiers looked smart.
