Tui Macuata praises North initiatives
Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere was pleased with the 2016-2017 Budget announced by Minister for Finance Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum on Wednesday night.
“It was a good one especially on the agriculture front as well as the new airport,” Ratu Wiliame said.
He said the allocation to the Ministry of Agriculture of $74.4million was an increase.
“(I am) delighted to see the setting up birth, death and marriage office in Bua something that has always been requested by Bua to also have the Government services available,” he said.
He said the allocation was good for the Northern Centre but it all boiled down to the right usage and the utilisation of the funds allocated.
Ratu Wiliame commended Government for the compassion and assistance for the disadvantaged in the National Budget annoucement.
