Korovuto Upset Champs

Defending champions Manukau from New Zealand lost their first game in the Vodafone sponsored 57th Sanatan Inter-District Championship 2016 at Cuvu College in Sigatoka yesterday.
The Shalen Lal-captained side was edged by Korovuto 1-0 in an epic battle.
Manukau had the services of former Suva striker Lal, former Suva/Ba striker Shameel Rao while Korovuto had Nadi striker Anish Khem, Fiji Futsal reps Diraj Kumar and Rodrick Kumar.
Shree Sanatan Dharm Sabha Fiji president Sarju Prasad said they would host the 2018 World Cup in Fiji.
“Sanatan Fiji has successful negotiated with Sanatan World Cup body to make Fiji the international hub to host the World Cup in Fiji every two years starting from 2018,” Prasad said.
“This will enhance tourism in the country.”
The women are also taking part in netball.

Pool 2: Nasinu, Cuvu, Wairabetia, Sabeto;
Pool 3: Ba , Makoi, Nadi, Tuva;
Pool 4: Votualevu, Lautoka, Dreketi, Uluisila;
Veteran: Pool 1: Cuvu, Ba, Wairabetia, Korovuto, Pool 2: Lautoka, Tuva, Makoi, and Brahman Nadi.
Results: Korovuto 1-0 Wairabetia, Ba 1 – 1 Makoi, Nadi 1-0Tuva, Nasinu 0-0 h Cuvu, Votualevu1-1Dreketi 1-1, Lautoka 3-2, Makoi 0-0 Tuva.
