About 500 students of St John’s College in Cawaci in Levuka, Ovalau Island participated in the passing out parade yesterday.

Archbishop Peter Loy Chong was chief guest during the function.

College teacher Ifereimi Waqabaca said: “This is the second year of St John’s College’s cadet programme.

“We have organised this parade to discipline the students.

“This allows students to understand their roles and responsibilities towards their country,” he said.

Mr Waqabaca said they had very good responses from students.

“The students were very happy to participate in the parade.”

“The school will organise more exciting passing-out parades for students next year,” he added.
