Fitness, No Problem: Patel

Rajesh Patel mentioned that fitness should not be a problem for the Vodafone Fijian national football team when they play the international friendly match against Malaysia today.

The Fijian Football Association president made the comment at Fiji Football Academy in Ba yesterday.

“Fitness level should not be a problem as you all took part in the Vodafone Fijian FACT last weekend in Labasa, “Patel said.

He told the players they were capable of beating Malaysia.

“This is something that we will keep doing to give you exposure and matches that will improve your skills.

“Malaysia is beatable. Papua New Guinea beat them 2-0 and they went down to New Caledonia 2-1.”

Team captain Roy Krishna said the team was fit enough and would perform to expectations.

“Fitness should not be a problem, we know how to play so we just need to go out there and play our normal game,” Krishna said.

Meanwhile, Keshwin Lal, Vodafone Fiji manager broadband services wish the boys the best.

“The last two years was a good outing on the international front for our team as the team qualified and did well at the FIFA U21 World Cup,” Lal said.

“This year the Vodafone U23 side will play their first ever Olympic Games.

“Vodafone Fiji is committed partner of Fiji FA and will do its best to take the sport to greater heights.”

The Vodafone Fijian national side play Malaysia at Prince Charles Park, Nadi today at 2pm.
