Malolo Thump Lautoka

The Nacanieli Labalaba-captained Malolo team secured a bonus point victory over Lautoka 54-3 in the Skipper Cup competition at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday. Malolo ran in eight unanswered tries.

The Nacanieli Labalaba-captained Malolo team secured a bonus point victory over Lautoka 54-3 in the Skipper Cup competition at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka yesterday.

Malolo ran in eight unanswered tries.

 

What happened:

First- five eighth Semi Tuivunilagi scored converted by fullback Timoci Tavuto.

In the 19th minute Lautoka centre Vatiliai Tuisabeto slotted in the penalty, 7-3.

Four minutes later Labalaba scored which was converted by Tavuto, 14-3.

Six minutes later half-back Joseva Kuricuva scored.

 

Halftime: Malolo 21 –  3Lautoka.

In the second half, Malolo took control as Malolo fired with five tries.

In the 53 minute referee Tevita Rokoveredi yellow carded Dan Delailomaloma.

Lock forward Lemeki Sukanabola and wing Ameniasi Tuimaba scored the last two tries.

 

Star Play: Flanker Rusiate Nasove played a man-of-the match performance.

 

Star Turn: Atunaisa Kunavere and Lemeki Sukanabola played well for Malolo.

 

Comments: Malolo coach Mosese Volavola said, “It was a good game and the young players proved themselves.”

Lautoka assistant coach Sireli Bulicokocoko said: “We failed, we did not expect the scoreline to be massive.”
