What happened: Namosi and Jack’s Nadi drew 17-17 in round seven of the Skipper Cup competition at Thomson Park yesterday.

Namosi first-five eighth Solo Radinidrova scored the points from a penalty and extended the lead with two more penalties.

Nadi bounced back with a try to No. 8 Ron Katonivere in the 32nd minute. Backed by a vocal crowd, Radinidrova kicked a penalty and a try from fullback Iona Tuivuna to lead 17-7 at the halftime.

The jetsetters dominated the second half. Poor decision making proved costly for Namosi allowing Donaldson to kick four penalties.  Donaldson had his final chance to kick a penalty to win the game but failed.

Big play: Namosi’s strong on attack and ruthless in defence.

Star turn: Nadi lifted the intensity in the second-half.

Comments: Namosi manager Jeff Tamata was impressed with the U20 players who are now stepping in for the challenge.

“Having the U20 players in the team is part of our development plan and it’s good to see our young boys maturing.

“Namosi is one of the best teams at the moment, it was a tough game.

Credit to Namosi coaching staff and our players, we still remain undefeated.”

Nadi plays Nadroga in round eight next week.

Namosi head coach Maxwell Hughes;

“We led 17-5 but we made mistakes in our own half.”

Namosi play Tailevu in the next round.
