Public requested to abide by traffic requirements on Friday

The Fiji Police Force will be stepping up on security measures for the Investec Super Rugby match between the Gallgher Chiefs and the BNZ Crusaders this Friday.

An operation is currently underway to provide safety and security for all, and ensure visiting teams and their supporters return safely to their home country as this is an event that was initiated by the Government.

The Police are therefore requesting members of the public to assist stakeholders ensure the visiting teams and everyone who will be gracing our shores in the coming week will be accorded the true Fijian hospitality so that all events are incident-free.

In light of the fact that there are major events also occurring concurrently such as the Fiji Showcase, a number of traffic requirements will be implemented on Friday, July 1.

Traffic officers will be co-ordinating traffic flow and members of the public should expect some disruption.

People’s support in ensuring an incident-free event will hopefully see Fiji hosting similar major sporting events in the future.
