200 Officers To Guard Super Rugby Today

The Fiji Police Force will beef up security for the Super 15 rugby match between Crusaders and Chiefs at the ANZ Stadium in Suva today.

Chief of Operation, ACP Rusiate Tudravu said a team of around 200 Police officers would be deployed today to strengthen the security detail at the game venue.

He said they would also use drones to assist them monitor people at the games and identify movements.

To assist Police in monitoring the crowd the Civil Aviation Authority off Fiji has issued a ‘No Drone Zone’ notice of 500-metre radius around the ANZ Stadium today from 5pm to 10pm.

“Police will be deployed at the airport, stadium, carpark and players accommodation; we want an incident free game,” ACP Tudravu said.
