Crusaders Feel At Home: Todd

With Nemani Nadolo joining Montpellier next season, Todd Blackadder hopes more Fijians would join the Crusaders in future.

And the departing Crusaders coach, who will be replaced by Scott Robertson, had been overwhelmed with the support for the men in red and black.

“I hope so, it’s up to the next coach, Nemani has been fantastic for us, it’s sad loss,” Blackadder said.

“A lot of guys leaving this year which makes this year even more special. Definitely more Fijian players in the Crusaders in the future, it’s really obvious for us to say.”

Namatakula, Nadroga native Nadolo and Nadogo, Macuata lad Jone Macilai will pair up on the wings against the Chiefs tonight at the ANZ Stadium.

“We expect the Fijian boys to play the best rugby of their lives. We’re expecting them to go and enjoy themselves,” Blackadder added.

The team has been overwhelmed with the treatment and hospitality.

“It’s so overwhelming, I was running along the road and I’ve to be stopped 20 times, we feel at home.

“People are just so nice and it’s just fantastic, the hospitality is wonderful, it’s great to be here and to be playing Super Rugby.”

Blackadder strongly believes Fiji have the resources to host future international matches.

“You got all the resources, logistics wise is fantastic.

“There is no excuse of bringing more games here in the future. I hope this game is a catalyst of future games here,” Blackadder added.

“Fiji just won the PNC, the World Sevens Series and this country is just full of athletes.”

Blackadder calls for the fans support tonight.

“It feels that we are actually the home team, we always have good support in Fiji, its top of the table clash and we are really excited of playing here.

“The guys are excited they are back in Crusader mode.”
