BNZ Crusaders winger Jone Macilai and some of his teammates visited his former school Nasinu Gospel Primary School yesterday.

It was a big occasion for the school and Nasinu residents when they get to meet their stars with the likes of Flying Fijians winger Nemani Nadolo and Crusaders first five eighth Richie Mo’unga in person.

Hundreds turned up in numbers to the school to be part of the programme and the Crusaders enjoyed the day with entertainments provided by the students. They spent the rest of the visit doing rugby drills with the students.

Macilai was proud to visit his school.

“It’s an honor and priviledge to be here, where I started playing rugby.

“And also thank my teammates for giving their time to join me in visiting my school,” he said.

Timaima Nailolo, who taught the Nadogo, Macuata native in Nasinu Gospel in 1998 and 2002, described Macilai as a good student.

“Macilai started Early Childhood Education in 1995-1996 and attended the school from Year One to Year Eight.

“He was my student in Year Two that was in 1998 and Year Seven in 2002.

“Jone’s been a good student during his time here,”she said.

“He participated in athletics and rugby.

Nailolo said the school is jubilant of Macilai’s achievement.
